Digital ID Coming to the UK

Digital ID
Today, the 26th September 2025, Keir Starmer announced that Digital ID is being introduced and will be mandatory for all British adults. Here is the announcement on YouTube.

Some will think this is a good idea, some won't.

This afternoon, a former Labour spokesman / adviser said that if you are a "good citizen" and a "normal citizen" you have nothing to fear or worry about. His words though are the fear for many. He has hit the nail right on the head. Who is this person in the future who will decide whether you are a good citizen? What threshold will they use for this? What laws will protect the human rights of the individuals under such a system?

Ultimately though, targeted individuals know that it does not matter what safeguards or laws they bring in to safeguard against the abuse of such a system. Such laws can simply be ignored and overtrodden as many targeted individuals can attest to under the current system.

We already know, as Targeted Individuals (TI's), what it feels like to have our basic human rights destroyed. Our right to privacy destroyed. Our right to a normal life destroyed. Tortured and slandered in our own communities.

Many TI's do not have criminal records. They are just regular citizens from different backgrounds. Some have had successful careers. But because they upset someone "with connections", or they did the wrong thing by someone else's definition, they subsequently got labelled. Got labelled as a threat. And then, according to many, subsequently placed on a "list" where they are subject to round the clock surveillance and targeting.

Targeted Individuals already know that a shadow system exists. A system where they cannot get the help they need. Where they are blocked from jobs, services and opportunities. A system where they are subject to intrusive surveillance, where their privacy is infiltrated and destroyed. A system where they are subjected to organised harassment and gangstalking.

This week on X, one of my targeted individual contacts said that even if those in authority deemed the surveillance to be "legitimate", it's all of the organised harassment and gangstalking on top which is not legitimate and which is highly illegal. She has a point.

A system controlled by a Digital ID could have enormous potential. If used for the right reasons, it could make public services far more efficient and bring speedy connectivity for accessing a whole range of online services. If used for the wrong reasons, it could lead to a loss of privacy, centralised control, data breaches, exclusion, and erosion of freedom.

If I wasn't a targeted individual, I would probably only see digital ID through rose-tinted spectacles and would probably think it was a good idea. But as a targeted individual, I see one thing and one thing only. A system that could potentially be used and abused by the state.

George Orwell's 1984 sets out a dystopian future where people are controlled by a totalitarian ideology. It's a Penguin paperback classic. It has nearly 135,000 reviews on Amazon and 4.4 stars! 💥💥💥💥💥. If you have not read it already, perhaps now is a good time for you to have a read.

At the time of writing this blog post, the online petition to stop the introduction of Digital ID's in the UK is heading speedily up to 1.2 million signatures. If you are a British citizen and do not want to see digital ID then sign the petition.

Only time will tell what will happen with this. We'll continue to post updates about it on this blog along the way.
