44 people responded, out of which 38 individuals stated they experienced both hacking of their technology devices and stalking at their home.
I have also experienced both although, understandably, I am not allowed to vote on my own X poll.
I've had my technology hacked in several ways, but the most obvious way was when I had approximately 350 Ring Camera videos bulk deleted from my Gmail account. Whoever went in and did the bulk delete also deleted around 100 email exchanges between myself and the local police officer who was dealing with my harassment case. Overnight they had deleted many months of evidence. Evidence which showed not just that the harassment was taking place but also evidence which showed the lack of police action.
So, on this point, my advice to you is this:
Make sure you back up any evidence onto offline, external physical back up devices such as a high storage USB stick or an external hard drive.
Also, try and find an email account which may be a bit more private and secure. To be honest, I'm dubious as to whether such a thing exists. Whatever email inbox provider you use, my opinion is they will still be able to gain access to it. What might help (but it's just a 'might' - there's no guarantee) is to start using accounts which require a physical security key to gain access. I use Yubico Security Keys on my laptop for some of my accounts. They are fantastic. A lot of accounts still don't accept the use of these keys. However, some accounts now do. The social media platform X supports the use of these security keys and email providers such as Fastmail and Proton Mail also support their use. They provide another barrier and every little helps!
As for stalking, I have seen several people on social media say the same thing. Since they always use different strangers and vehicles to undertake the stalking it is very difficult to establish a fixated pattern of stalking that would usually be seen in single-person stalking cases - that is, when the stalking is done by the same person all of the time. This is why organised stalking is so effective. Since they use different people to undertake their acts, it is difficult to pin an established pattern on someone.
As for both of these aspects, I will be undertaking much more in-depth research at a later stage. We ask you to kindly subscribe to the website - hit the "subscribe" button on the website homepage - to be kept up to date with future developments. Thankyou.
