Harassment Experiences - Results Now in from our Seventh X Poll - Targeted Individuals

I Need Work
On an X Poll we ran on the 21st October 2025 on our X account @TheEverydayBrit, 90% of the respondents (35 people) stated that they believed they were being barred from work opportunities.

Applying for work can be difficult at the best of times. Applying for jobs, just as a regular citizen, is just not an easy process sometimes and you have to often compete with several other people also going for the same job. Also, developing your CV can take a long time. Infact, it's something which never stops. Individuals spend their whole working life developing their CV to put themselves in the best position to apply for jobs and opportunities.

So when, as a targeted individual, your faced with a program which intentionally puts barriers in the way for you to "not get that job", then what is normally a difficult hill to climb can turn into something akin to climbing Mount Everest.

It's also important to say here that the X Poll we ran does not factor in the question of when you do get a job as a targeted individual, how long did you hold that job down for before things were potentially made difficult for you.

Furthermore, when someone intentionally tries to sabotage you at work and defame your capability and character, it can be difficult to overcome this and progress, especially when it's intentional and attaches to you as a person.

We will run other X Polls on these things at a later stage.

And it's not just paid jobs which targeted individuals are potentially barred from. 25 out of the 39 respondents on the X Poll also stated they were barred from voluntary role positions.

Another thing to mention here is the importance of meritocracy, or lack of it. A few months ago, there was a discussion on a radio channel I was listening to about how getting a job, or advancing in a job, can often depend on who you know, not what you know. Meritocracy is often trumped when someone wants another person for a job and when someone wants another person to advance. This is made so much more difficult for targeted individuals who have been blacklisted and defamed within their communities.

So, are there any solutions?

One solution we want to focus on in this blog is to discover things which you can do to empower yourself, especially ideas for starting out as your own entrepreneur.

This free, online course - Think and Grow Rich: Proven Strategies to Achieve Your Dreams - is a good starting point. It's CPD accredited and delivered by a reputable learning provider.

Later, we will also begin to give you specific ideas of areas you could look at to try out for yourself.

If you have any helpful suggestions you would also like to offer, please do leave a comment below for others to read 👍. Thankyou.
