We've tried different ear plugs before, but they have either been a bit uncomfortable once they are in your ears or they simply don't cut down as much sound as they promised to do.
Or, both - they are uncomfortable and don't work too well!
We personally have particular difficulty with silicone / rubber earplugs which we find simply too uncomfortable to have in the ears.
Last week, I started to use some soft foam earplugs from Ohropax and boy! I love them 💗
The ones I use are Ohropax Colour but Ohropax Soft are also available 👍 (As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases).
They are far more comfortable to wear for me and I don't hear any noise, not even faint background noise. Mind, my hearing isn't the best anyway 😀 but these really give me a good sleep!
But, it's not just me saying this. These earplugs have several thousand reviews with many saying they cut out the noise and are also comfortable to use.
Many of the reviewers comment how they've struggled for years with their sleep (from background noises, snoring partners, snoring dogs, noisy neighbours etc) and they say these have simply resolved their sleeping issues overnight and for very little in the way of cost!
A small number of users do comment that they still experience a tiny bit of minimal / background noise wearing them, but many report that this is not so for them.

Advisory Note / Cautionary Note
If we lived alone we would personally not use these (and any other earplugs) as it's likely you wouldn't hear a smoke alarm going off if you have smoke alarms installed in your home.
Also, it's likely you wouldn't hear other alarms either such as a morning bedside alarm (unless perhaps it's set on vibrate right beside you which might wake you).
I live with others who are able to alert me to an event, or events, if they need to.
