Harassment Experiences - Results Now in from our Sixth X Poll - Targeted Individuals

Privacy in the Home
On an X Poll we ran on the 10th September 2025 on our X account @TheEverydayBrit, 75% of respondents (33 people) stated that they believed there were hidden cameras inside their home. 32 people (72%) said they believed microphones were inside their home.

I've seen this discussed on social media a few times before where targeted individuals think they are being watched in their home but they don't precisely know how. Certainly, from my own perspective, the things that I do inside my home are timed with external events of harassment outside of my home. I have seen several TI's also mirror this same observation. So, in that sense, one must factor in that somehow they have a way of determining what you do inside your home in order to tie it in with acts of harassment towards you.

One thing I have said online is that if cameras etc are being used, they will be of a specification that is beyond anything we would regularly buy ourselves in a high street shop. Some cameras are now so small that you would have difficulty spotting them with the naked eye.

You could try and use a hidden camera detector to detect a camera although I am unsure as to how effective these actually are. If you do decide to try one, a suggestion would be to buy it off the shelf from a bricks and mortar shop rather than from an online shop. I bought one off the internet about 4 years ago and when it arrived it was obvious that the packaging had been tampered with. Needless to say, when I used the item inside my home is was completely useless and my guess was that the detector itself had already been tampered with before I even received it.

From my own point of view, what I can say is that the point at which the penny dropped for me and I realised that my own privacy was being massively abused came as a huge shock to me at the beginning of my targeting. Years later, however, it is perhaps now the least thing of all that bothers me. Don't get me wrong. I am not saying it's right or I agree with it. It's completely wrong, toxic, immoral and illegal and it is a complete annihilation of your personal human rights and your personal freedoms if you are indeed being surveilled inside your home. However, purely from my own perspective, I live my life and, to be perfectly honest, this aspect does not enter my mind any longer like how it did at the beginning.

There are things you could potentially try to allay the situation within your home where you believe something hidden is monitoring you and your privacy.

For example, you could get a company in to do a sweep of your home. However, if you are a targeted individual in our definition of what we mean by a targeted individual, then the chances are that such a company may potentially be in cahoots with the very people who are monitoring you. So, you may not get the required help or reassurance you need here.

You could try and buy a hidden camera detector. These are readily available. As mentioned above, try and locate a physical store which sells these and buy one directly off the shelf.

Another thing you could do is to create a tech-free room in your home. Here is a recent post which sets out this project. It might not be totally foolproof but it's a great start and may give you the level of reassurance you need or seek.

Also, consider items which may offer more privacy in your home such as this canopy bed for your bedroom which can then be covered with whatever fabric canopy you desire.

Where you believe you are being monitored, do things inside your home which break up your normal routine to give the harassers less chance of harassing you with external events outside. Chop and change things around a bit.

Also, do things suggested in some of our previous posts such as obtaining privacy film for your glass windows and looking for somewhere to live that offers you more privacy.
